Sa Ngalan Sa Amahan: A Cebuano Stage Play

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Moonbox Event Productions presents the University of the Philippines Student Theater Arts Guild for Education (UPSTAGE) in a Cebuano play entitled Sa Ngalan Sa Amahan (In the Name of the Father). The play will be staged in SM Cinema 2 on February 27, 2010, Saturday.

Sa Ngalan sa Amahan is a Cebuano play inspired from Sa Ngalan ng Ama by Roberto Jose de Guzman, a Palanca Award winning play for Literature. The play revolves around the tragic story of a family ruined by the autocratic ways of the father. The story takes place within the old household of the Villasante’s. It tackles highly important and relevant political and social issues discussed in the family setting, society’s most basic unit and very foundation. (more…)

My Sinulog Experience 2010

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

I can still remember clearly that day. It was a clear sunny blue sky on the day of  Jan. 17, Sunday. The Cebu Bloggers Society was partnered with 88DB.com in their booth. They were stationed just outside Acha Pizzeria in Jones Avenue. Our meeting time was 1PM so I went out from the house around 12:30PM. I rode a jeepney down to Fuente circle and from there I walked my way to the booth. It took me an hour and a half to reach the 88DB.com booth coz’ the crowd was completely great in number. Someone told me that there were 2 million devotees gathered that day.

Anyway, that was my first ever Sinulog experience. Back home in Leyte since I was a child, I only watch Sinulog Festival on TV. When I reached college and started studying here in Cebu last 2006, I don’t go out during Sinulog coz’ of the crowd and another thing also is I don’t have company. (more…)

Cool Jump Shots!

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

The Cebu Bloggers Society had its 2nd day of Heritage Tour. As we arrived under the new bridge of Mactan, we can’t start our video documentation immediately due to the noise that the drum and bugle corps practice are making. So we decided to take some jump shots. We did not expect to capture such cool jump shots.

Here are some of the jump shots taken:
