My Sinulog Experience 2010

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

I can still remember clearly that day. It was a clear sunny blue sky on the day of  Jan. 17, Sunday. The Cebu Bloggers Society was partnered with 88DB.com in their booth. They were stationed just outside Acha Pizzeria in Jones Avenue. Our meeting time was 1PM so I went out from the house around 12:30PM. I rode a jeepney down to Fuente circle and from there I walked my way to the booth. It took me an hour and a half to reach the 88DB.com booth coz’ the crowd was completely great in number. Someone told me that there were 2 million devotees gathered that day.

Anyway, that was my first ever Sinulog experience. Back home in Leyte since I was a child, I only watch Sinulog Festival on TV. When I reached college and started studying here in Cebu last 2006, I don’t go out during Sinulog coz’ of the crowd and another thing also is I don’t have company. (more…)

Cebu Bloggers Society Heritage Tour

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

Have you ever been on a heritage tour? I have. Last August 21, 2009 Friday, the Cebu Bloggers Society had come up with an idea to have a Cebu Heritage Tour for the group’s video documentation. That day was a holiday to celebrate and remember the death and bravery of  Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino or the Ninoy Aquino Day as we call it. Also, we will use the output of our video documentation as part of our Audio Visual Presentation. We went to different historical places within the Cebu City area only.

Our first stop was in Basilica del Sto. Niño. Our meet up time was 8am but apparently, people arrived at 9am already so we were behind our schedule. We then started rolling the camera. Our lines are about the Expression of Individual and Collective Will. (more…)

A Walk At Ayala Terraces

Saturday, February 28th, 2009
Last February 23, 2009 was EDSA Revolution Holiday, so there was no class. The night before was our Garland Ceremony. Since I only rented a gown, I had to return it the day after. The boutique is only close to Ayala so since hunger striked, I decided to grab some snack at Mcdonald’s.

I ordered large fries, cheese burger, and Coke float. (mmm)

Peace Philharmonic Philippines Live at Ayala Terraces

Sunday, February 15th, 2009
February 14 is Valentine’s Day, and that was yesterday. We were invited by Junrey (member of the Peace Philharmonic and CBS member) to watch their group perform in Ayala Terraces at 8:30PM. But unfortunately, the show started at around 9:00PM just close to 8:30 anyway. We (Jorich, Guada, Clarence) were just sitting there on the 3rd row seats waiting for the show to start and it was raining heavily.

Finally, the show has started. Or not. There were some bloopers also. The group started playing and we thought that it was starting, but then they all stood up surprisingly and started to pick up their things and went backstage. But as explained by the organizer, “that was actually their sound check. They usually do it before they start the show. After they stood up, they were just at the back stage waiting for the time.” So me and Guada went to the comfort room for a while since the show hasn’t started yet. When we came back, the show has started already. Boy, they were fast.
